# Refund Processing
### Refunds
Once an investment reaches escrow, refunds are handled by North Capital. Once you click cancel (refund) on the portal, North Capital will reach out to the investor using the contact information provided when creating their investment (typically email) in order to arrange sending the refund via bank transfer. The investor will receive a secure DocuSign to enter their bank account information.
The exception is that if the refund is initiated before midnight UTC (around 5pm EST) on the same day the funds were received, the refund will occur instantly through Stripe because the funds had not been transferred to escrow yet.
